On October 28^th, in Busto Arsizio (Varese, Italy), Sainam took a further step towards world domination!  Just kidding, but we actually did take a leap of faith towards our future and growth, as SAINAM EUROPE (ITALY) ONLUS (from now on simply S.E.I.) was born!  Sainam Europe will hopefully allow us to increase our fundraising, our donations, and sponsorships.

The three “senior” partners of S.E.I. are: Mr. Emilio Bossi, Mr. Roberto Longobardi, and yours truly.  The board of directors will be as follows:

Members: Mrs. Helene Ehret & Mrs. Daniela Rampinelli

We are looking forward to working together in order to help our projects in Thailand, which need everyone’s support.  I would like to point out that everyone in S.E.I. will be doing so on a volunteer basis and there will be no administration expenses. 

Another very important thing I would like to make clear is that we absolutely do not want to start a competition with Missione Calcutta Onlus.  The proof of this is that the founder, president and soul of Missione Calcutta Onus, Mrs. Helene Ehret, is part of S.E.I.’s board.  I consider Missione Calcutta to be like a “parent” to Sainam, after having helped us so much and supported us in so many ways, now they are steering us on the road towards autonomy. I really think that the concept of “competition” between two NGOs is total NONSENSE, and I can assure you that we are all working together with one goal only; to help those who are in need.

Finally, about the name.  Why Sainam Europe (Italy) and not only Sainam Italy?  S.E.I. was started mainly thanks to Roberto’s input as he really wanted to do something “real” to help us, so we hope that one day we will have other persons who would like to help us elsewhere in Europe…and beyond!  Imagine that one day there will be Sainam Europe in France, Switzerland, England, Germany, etc.  If anyone would like to get into this adventure with us we would be of course very happy to join hands and work together.  Am I too optimistic?  Well, without dreams life would really be empty, we have a dream so let’s work hard to realize it!

For the moment, our Sainam family in Thailand would like to thank its new “relative” in Italy!  Also, S.E.I. being an ONLUS will allow the donor to apply for a tax exemption for every donation made, which may proof to be a nice incentive!
