Our mailing list is currently made of about 300 email addresses, spread all over the world. Of these 300 people, I really can’t imagine how many of them are immediately deleting our newsletter, or how many keep reading it. Obviously, what I am about to write is meant to be for those who read this web site or our e-letter and, maybe, even like the work that we are doing. Recently, an N.G.O. who promised to sponsor the CARE PROGRAM unexpectedly backed out, leaving us in very serious…trouble (I probably should use another “dirty” word, but I won’t thanks to my “zen” life approach!). I am not living on the moon, or on Mars, and I know very well that we are all living in hard times, but once again allow me to launch an appeal to you. I am not asking you for money, but instead I would like to ask you to help us expand our very limited number of friends, sponsors, and supporters. I repeat, dear friends, I am not asking that you who are already donors and sponsors donate any money. I am simply asking you to try to speak about our work with the people you know. Tell them about CARE, a program which helps 50 very poor families. These families don’t have enough food, and they are mostly comprised of elderly grandparents who have to look after their abandoned grandchildren. It is a program vital to about than 140 souls, who are getting food and care. To avoid any abuse of this program or unintentional waste, we never give them any cash; instead we directly deliver the basic food they need, such as oil, rice, and canned food. We also provide hygienic items and other necessities for those under our direct medical care. These families really count on us, and now, this entire program is seriously at risk. Sainam is currently a lifeboat, a small little lifeboat with too many people who cling to it as it sails through very stormy and unsafe waters! This is the only reason why, once again, I have come knocking at your “electronic door.” Not asking you for money, but for help in further expanding our mailing list. I am really sorry to be continuously begging for help, and I really would like just to write about our projects, but at this juncture this is simply impossible. Thanks from all my heart, Claudio |
