Here are the three families who will receive the houses sponsored by Franklin College Switzerland:
The first family is Mareemon and Sawat Chaipon’s. They are really poor, but very hard working people. Sawat, the husband, is working as laborer in Bangkok while Mareemon is an agricultural laborer in her village, Ban Phai. They have two children who regularly attend school Atiwat, a boy at Rattana Buri High School and Suay, a small girl, who attends class 1 at Ban Phai Primary school. Both of them are in our Scholarship Program. They currently live in an old and dilapidated wooden hut not too far away from Ban Sainam. Even though they struggle a lot in their daily lives their home, even though old and in bad condition, is very clean and well kept. For this reason and because they are really responsible parents we consider them a fully deserving family.
The second beneficiaries will be Pong and Tuy’s family. They came to our village with nothing, sent away from their own previous village because the husband’s family was against their marriage. Pong is one of the most trusted members of our Farmer group and Tuy is one of our “original” SaoKae, the two have two small children (Arthit and Cartoon),
The third house will be built for Tongsee Tammada, in the village of Ban Naudom. She is the mother of three children, Ming, Nui (one of our best students now at Khon Kaen’s University), and Nai. Until now, Tongsee, her husband, and the two children were living in an old hut (as seen in picture).
It will be truly wonderful to open the houses to these three families once the construction has been completed! |
