We should have been soon celebrating what would have been, probably, the most important event in Sainam’s short history: Mrs. Christine Schraner-Burgener, the Swiss Ambassador in Thailand, visit to Sainam.

Unfortunately the recent tragic events which hit Thailand, events which showed the whole world a new, unknown, tragic and scary side of this beautiful country are making her visit impossible, at least for the time being. I don’t intend to repeat once again my views and my opinion about what happened and why it happened, also because I read enough untrue and biased reports in the western press about the situation, sometimes total “bullshit” such as the one who described the man who financed the whole mess a socialist, a “paladin” of the poor! That left me speechless indeed.

Anyway, what happened left all of us flabbergasted, completely numb and extremely sad. Many lives were lost, lives which deserve our tears regardless of the colors they were wearing, all victims of a much bigger and wider game, just unaware pawns in all of this.

But they are not the only victims in this collective madness, many other victims won’t make the newpapers’ headlines, won’t be in the official numbers, statistic and lists.  They are those who lost everything during these 2 months of sheer and total madness, people who had their own existence totally destroyed, people who were earning their living by selling food on the street, working in Thai massage parlor, taxi drivers or tuk tuk drivers … all people who for nearly 2 month did not see a dime, people who invested everything they had in their small business which now are gone and not for their mistakes.  They lost everything what they tried to build with work and sweat!

They and their children are in these days, literally, flooding Ban Sainam asking for help, asking to be part of the scholarship program, asking for support. For this reason, once again I am here , on their behalf, to ask for help please try to help us to find new sponsors for them, help us not to have more names in the waiting list than in the actual scholarship program! I will not publish their photos as I don’t want to make this web site a sort of “Sponsorship Catalogue” but here are few of their names, just a few: Sasinee, Ekkarin, Tipteewa, Areerat, Emon, Jeeraporn, Mareenee, Nanthanut, Piyadaa.

Very honestly, we can’t make it alone!
