She came and she left! And I am referring to Mrs. Christine Schraner-Burgener, the Swiss Ambassador in From the moment we met in Surin, at the dinner with Khun Wiboon Rattanaponwong Rattana Buri Governor and Khun Chartchai Uthaipan Surin Vice-Governor until the moment she left us at Ban Khennoi we all really felt so honored to have her with us (on a personal note I am very proud to have “kidnapped” her and brought her to Tawan Daeng, a restaurant where they play local, and very good music, this to the great concern of the two governors, who anyway also came with us!
It was amazing really, I think surely these three days will remain forever in Sainam’s history. We saw people really happy and we time like old friends, in a total informal and relaxed way. To see Mrs. Ambassador spending time with our farmers, our kids and during the party dancing with us, making the “Rumwong” with all of us really made our people happy, made them feel proud, made them feel proud to be part of the Sainam Family which now has one more member, Mrs. Christine Schraner-Burgener (as you may see from the photo, the yellow cotton thread are a symbol of the people’s love and a welcome to the Sainam’s family. I have never seen so many in anyone’s arms!). We are so grateful to her, for taking the time to travel for 600 km from We are, of course, very grateful to the Swiss Embassy for having supported this very important project. Personally I would like to thanks Mr. Flavio Milan as he is the one who started all this, Khun Rachada and Khun Gabriela Wutrich at the Embassy, who helped us to plan this whole event. We sincerely hope to see Tantuud soon again at Ban Sainam even if we know that it will be very difficult indeed. Khap Khun mak mak khrub Tantuud!
And now here are few of the many, many, many photos which were made on these day, we like to share them with all of you and hope you may share our joy!
