We started the construction work of the small car workshop in Ban Naudom, as we found the help we needed among our friends. One of these friends is an 86 years old man who was a prisoner of the Nazi concentration camps during World War II. This great man Giuseppe “Joseph” Fumagalli, who I am lucky enough to call my friend wrote a book about his terrible experience (Diario di una prigionia) and decided to donate all revenue from its sale to Sainam but he asked us that the money would go a particular project, the Car Workshop which from now on will known as JO’S CAR CARE. Then more good news came from Thanks a lot to all the people who helped us out with this project, the young people who will work there and us at Sainam, we are all thanking you.
And at the same time we started to build Pa Bee new home. Pa Bee was one of the first beneficiaries of the micro-lending project, we lend her ฿ 3.000 to start her “noodle shop” an amount she fully reimboursed. Recently she asked for another fresh loan of ฿ 5.000 to upgrade her “home restaurant” which is working very well. Her problem is that she is not having her own house. She lived so far in some relative house who now, surely jealous because she is doing so well, threw her out. So she found herself homeless, with her 24 years old son and her 5 years old grand kid. She came, of course, to Ban Saiunam to ask for help, we told her to wait since we had no money so she waiting for month for a good news. And I had the pleasure to personally give her this good news since a friend of ours, part of the Treviso’s group of Sainam Italy decided to help her, donating the money for her house. Useless to say how Pa Bee was happy, also because her daughter in I also have my benefit in this whole operation, since this only means I will be able to continue to have my daily noodles @ Pa Bee’s for the amount of ฿ 20, so Gianni also solved my “survival” problem. |
