This time it was Ban Bon school’s teachers who came to us, because the roof on the school’s main building is half destroyed and leaking (that’s an understatement by the way).  In addition, the toilets are…well out of decency I’d rather not to describe them.  They asked Sainam for help, they asked us to repair their building and build some decent toilets for the children.  We listened to their requests, but then my question was pretty obvious: Why us? Why isn’t the government helping you?

The answer is the government allocates ฿ 20.000 a year for the maintenance of the entire building, which is surely not enough since the budget for the two construction projects is as follows:

Repair of the roof:             ฿ 119.000 = € 2.723

Toilets construction:          ฿ 117.120  = € 2.680                        Total: € 5.403

And now we finally found a sponsor who will help us to repair the half-destroyed and leaking roof.

And, once again, is our good friends in Bergamo (Italy), Missione Calcutta Onlus, who decided to lend a hand to us and to this poor village.  So we immediately started the repair work who are going on at present.  Due to budget constrains the help will be limited to the roof, regarding the toilets the children will have to wait longer, until we find more help.
